Mental and physical health are often linked. In fact, Milliman studies show that the cost for treating patients with chronic medical and comorbid mental health/substance use disorder conditions are two to three times higher on average than the cost for treating those who do not have those conditions. That is why AmeriHealth is building a model of care that better integrates behavioral health with physical health.
To build this model, we need to reshape how we work with Magellan Health.
